Acting classes have helped many shy children build confidence and self esteem, have fun interacting with others and enjoy being part of a group.
What does a class involve?
Classes will be tailored to each child, however a class typically starts off with exercises that will help your child feel more relaxed and connected to others. This is followed by a series of light physical warm-up exercises to release some of the tensions that are restricting your child from expressing themselves.
The next stage usually involves working with a story which will enable your child to step out of themselves and into a dramatic character giving permission to express themselves in a very different way than in their normal life.
For many shy, introverted or anxious children it can take time to build up their confidence, and it's not going to happen in one class, therefore I highly recommend your child attends classes regularly.
Fun and laughter are a very important part of the whole experience helping your quiet child break out of their shell and express themselves.
