Potter's Wheel Taster Session with Amanda Cotton during the UNITY Arts Festival

On the occesion of the UNITY Arts Festival please join us for a Potter's Wheel Taster Session! Pottery Tester Session is an ideal workshop to relax and learn new skills. Get hands-on and practice fundamental pottery skills, with experienced tutor's on hand offering practical tips and guidance!!!

During the lesson you will experience what it’s like to create pots on the potter’s wheel. Kicking off with a demonstration, you will watch Amanda in action. Then it’s your turn; Amanda will tailor the lesson to your needs depending on your experience and capabilities. 

Option to:

  • Take your pot away with you. Your pot won’t be functional but will make a beautiful ornament

  • Make you pot functional and use it every-day. For an additional £10 (cash or bank transfer on the day) it will be glazed, fired and be ready to collect within three weeks from Trinity Art Gallery (UNIT 22 Hope Street, London City Island, E14 0LG)

About Amanda Cotton - sculpture teacher

British artist Amanda Cotton lives and creates contemporary sculpture in London. This Masters of Art & Design graduate is a specialist in 3D materials practice via mold-making, ceramics and composites. Amanda learnt how to manipulate materials during her time at The University of Brighton and picked up skills during her time in France.

Known internationally for her ‘Body of Work’, Amanda’s sculpture has been a global topic of conversation. Using a durational analysis of her lifestyle and own bodies’ materials, Amanda’s versatile approach crafts the human body into contemporary sculpture. Her aim is to question personal significance & identity enabling the audience to make direct comparisons and connections between themselves and her practice.
