A majestic city situated in a valley flanked by Sapta Shring or seven hills and adorned with a lake of sparkling is Nainital. One of the most wonderful hill stations in North India is Nainital which is commonly known as the “Lake District of India”. The centre of all activities in the city is the eye- shaped lake and a view of the lake from most of the hotels and houses in Nainital is it is not a surprise that there. While the other legend says that when the Goddess Sati lost her eyes Nainital has derived its name from the Goddess Naina. Nainital is the wonderful small town in surrounded by seven hills which are famously known as “Sapta- Shring” are Sher- Ka- Danda, Ayarpata, Lariya- Kanta, Deopata, Alma, Handi- Bandi and Naina. Between April and June is the best time to visit Nainital again in September and October. Only one hour drive from Kathgodam that spread on the hills of the lower Himalayan range is Nainital. The closest railway station towards Nainital is Kathgodam which is well- connected by Railway networks with major destinations of India such as Kolkata, Lucknow and Delhi. One of the two airports of Uttarakhand is Pant Nagar Airport.
