Description:

Our client is exclusively working with FRSRecruitment to find their next Director of Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting here in Ireland.

A remote role with areporting line into the West Coast of the US with some adhoc travel to the US.

You will have management responsibility fora team of 8.

About the Role:
Build, lead, mentor, and develop a team of diverse and talented accountants or analysts at various levels to accomplish tasks accurately and within specified deadlines
Act as thought leader to the accounting team by evaluating current infrastructure, processes, and controls, to identify areas of improvement and automation of manual processes
Serveas the technical resource on GAAP rules and regulations and engage with business partners to ensure all relevant accounting issues and complex transactions are identified
Lead the accounting research effort for all technical accounting issues and the preparation of technical accounting memos required as part of quarterly and annual financial reporting to senior management, lenders, and our external auditors, including discussions with external auditors on such topics
Lead the coordination and act as themain point of contact for auditors and drive the audit completion with cross-functional coordination.
Project lead timely implementation of new accounting standards across functional teams
Lead and perform accounting and financial due diligence on acquisition, investment, and potential complex business transactions
Work with the outside valuation consultant and lead annual goodwill and other long-lived intangible asset impairment analysis and pension valuation
Maintain effective global accounting processes, policies, and procedures
Develop and provide guidance and training to U.S. and international locations on technical accounting issues
Act as the main point of contact for local accounting teams on addressing questions relating to local statutory audits
Provide accounting guidance to Treasury Team and Cash Clearing Team on certain transactions
Manage the accounting for theparent company entity that currently sit outside of the ERP system while companies's accounting system is being set-up.
Participate or assist with ad hoc projects as requested
Lead operational accounting and managing daily accounting activities and oversight of month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting including review of journal entries and account reconciliations and explanation of variances with respect to the following areas:
*Goodwill and other intangible assets
*Leases
*Pensions
*Debt and Interest
*Investments
*Equity

About You:
Bachelor's degree and/or MBA in Accounting
Extensive experience(10+ years) in Auditing/Accounting/Finance (with 8+ years in public accounting)
CPA/CA or equivalent required
Strong knowledgeof US GAAP
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
SAP experience is a plus
