Description:
Our client is seeking to hire an Operational Risk Lead. This is a newly created position with the fast-growing FinTech organisation with offices in 10+ countries and 2,500+ employees and growing.
Key elements to the role.
* Review operational risk policies and standards for risk management along with understanding the controls in place to mitigate and building additional controls where necessary
* Manage FirstLine Operational risk reporting: producing both internal and external reporting on key performance indicators and metrics
* Ensure Operational risk Training is robust and well managed: owning training content and delivery for both frontline colleagues,and the first-line QA framework for promoting the right risk culture and doing the right thing while thinking long term
* Regulatory requirements and guidance on an ongoing basis
* European Operational risk and Operational resilience policies, procedures and processes
* Perform operational risk identification and assessment in business units
* Be responsible for first-lineOperational risk; supporting the European Operations in managing Operational Risk along with developing and managing the Operational resilience plan for the Europe and UK businesses
* Implement a strategic plan to support the prevention, elimination andmitigation of operational risks in line with the Company's risk appetite
* Ensure Processes, Workflows, and Documentation match
* Assist the Operations in the development of key risk and control indicators
* Assist the Operations in the developmentof an Operational resilience framework and approach that is fit for purpose and can evolve as the business grows
* Coordinatewith senior management in performing operational risk reviews
* Assist in identifying and evaluating risk areas across operational activities and the Company's ability to be operational resilient
* Track and monitor operational risk issues ensuring that risks are managed in line with risk appetite, that issues are resolved satisfactorily and lessons learned are shared to ensurethe Operation is continuously improving
* Report operational risk issues and decisions to senior management on a regular basis
* Conduct Root Cause Analysis which will generate the right insights and direction of travel to address our operational riskand resilience issues, remediate weak processes and poor customer experience
* Develop strong relationships with key internalstakeholders and business partners by working together to address issues/concerns in a timely manner in line with all compliance and regulatory requirements
* Maintain documentation for risk management, operational resilience and risk policies and procedures
* Keep abreast of the latest operational risk management techniques and industry best practices for operational resilience.
Requirements
* 5 years+ of Operational Risk and/or Operational resilience leadership in a regulated environment* Experience in maturing the Controls and Management of a large customer-focused business ideally within the financial services space
* Understanding of the Central Bank of Ireland fitness and probity rules as this role constitutes a controlled function role and therefore candidates must meet minimum requirements of the rules.
* Deep European and/or UK financial services regulatory knowledge
* Significant experience in using Root Causes Analysis and data-driven insights to drive action and improvement while promoting the right risk culture of ownership and accountability
* Experience of managing teams and stakeholders through the Change journey
