About the role:
The Revenue Recognition Accountant is an important technical accounting resource that will report to the Senior Manager of Revenue Accounting and will workin a fast paced, dynamic and global team. The role would suit a newly qualified accountant, trained in practice.
As the Revenue Recognition Accountant, you will interact with multiple groups and be responsible for the accurate accounting of the company's revenues and ensuring compliance with the group's revenue recognition policies & procedures.
What you will get to do:* Timely and accurate completion of all monthly, quarterly and year-end revenue-related close procedures and processes includingthe preparation of journal entries and reconciliations for all related balance sheet accounts (e.g., Unbilled Receivable, Deferred revenue, Revenue accruals etc.)
* First review of signed customer contracts to propose appropriate accounting treatment inaccordance with company policy in a timely fashion.
* Research accounting guidance and prepare first draft of technical accounting memos for non-standard customer agreements.
* Provide detailed analysis of the units reported by customers and communicatefindings to FP&A, Sales and Licensing Governance.
* Work closely with Billing, FP&A, Sales & Sales Operations on revenue forecasting and other customer matters.
* Work closely with the internal and external audit teams regarding all revenue audit requirements and proactively resolve all revenue-related items.
* Support the completion of all revenue related disclosures in the financial statements for US GAAP and Statutory purposes.
* Maintain control documentation for revenue related processes and key controls
* Help lead the implementation of best practices including the standardisation and improvement of processes,procedures, controls and systems to scale our business and revenue expansion.
* Assist with User Acceptance testing of revenuetools.
* Participate in ad‐hoc projects as required
Must have:
* Bachelor's Degree
* ACCA, ACA or CIMA
* Workingknowledge of US GAAP preferred
* Knowledge of ASC 606
* Experience in researching accounting literature and preparing accounting memos.
* Understanding of accounting guidelines for software revenue recognition preferred (ASC606).
* Self-motivated withthe ability to establish and adhere to strict monthly/quarterly deadlines.
* Working knowledge of NetSuite, Microsoft Office and Salesforce preferred.
* Work effectively with team members - internal and external to revenue function.
